Pop Singer Mima leaves her band to pursue acting. Soon, a mysterious figure seems to stalk her and people around her end up dead. Mima slowly descends into madness with things spiralling out of her control.

Perfect Blue is a deeply disturbing film. It makes you uncomfortable, at the same time keeps you on your toes, guessing what's going to happen. A compelling thriller that delves deep into human psyche.

 

When Marnie was there (2014)

Anna is sent to the countryside to recuperate. There she meets Marnie, a mysterious blonde girl. Anna and Marnie develop a deep connection. As the story unravels, it is revealed that Marnie has much closer ties to Anna.

This movie will surprise you and will not go in the direction you expect it to. The art is beautiful and the makers did a marvellous job in capturing the Japanese countryside. Catch this beautiful, scenic movie on Netflix.

 

Arrietty (2010)


Sho, a 12-year-old arrives at his childhood home where he meets Arrietty, a tiny girl who lives with her family. Arrietty and her family are Borrowers, who borrow food and supplies from humans. Humans are unaware of the Borrowers. Sho meets Arrietty and strikes a friendship with her. Soon, Arrietty and her family's existence is threatened.

Ponyo (2008)



Sosuke rescues a goldfish which turns out to be the chirpy daughter of a wizard, who intends to become human. Sosuke names her Ponyo and they develop a deep bond. Ponyo's father, the wizard, however wants his daughter back.

Ponyo is a vibrant, imaginative story full of beauty and brilliance. The innocence of Sosuke and Ponyo, their cute relationship, combined with the spectacular art, Ponyo is a delightful watch.
